Product Information

Access
Designed as a highly trackable 10Fr Through-the-Scope (TTS)/Over-the-Wire (OTW) delivery system, enabling access and passage even in anatomical areas of high tortuosity.1

Decompression
Dedicated flared stent design, available in large diameters, is intended to improve obstruction relief and minimise risk of migration.3,4,5,6,7

Outcomes
Results from a European retrospective multicentre study demonstrate that the new WallFlex Colonic Stent provides effective treatment of malignant colonic obstruction in patients requiring both palliative therapy and a pre-operative decompression to reduce the need for stoma creation.2

Product Development
Boston Scientific is a leading developer of metal stents throughout the human anatomy, delivering new technologies designed to enable a better quality of life for the patient.

Material Treatment
Expertise in combining stent materials has resulted in a product conferring the benefits of nitinol with the radial force and visibility characteristics of Elgiloy.1

Medical Education
Boston Scientific is committed to the delivery of educational workshops, facility support and clinical activities that sharenew technologies with the medical community.

Technique
TTS/OTW delivery system is designed to gain procedural support and control during access, manipulation and deployment.1

Repositioning
The delivery system is created to allow physicians to recapture and reposition the stent at up to 70% of stent deployment.1

Treatment
Stents offer an alternative treatment option for both palliation and as bridge to elective surgery7,8,9 and are associated with low morbidity and mortality rates as compared to surgery7,9. Moreover, cost-effectiveness of stenting has been reported in the literature.7,8,9,10,11
