Outcomes
Results from a European retrospective multicentre study demonstrate that the new WallFlex Colonic Stent provides effective treatment of malignant colonic obstruction in patients requiring both palliative therapy and a pre-operative decompression to reduce the need for stoma creation.²

Treatment
Stents offer an alternative treatment option for both palliation and as bridge to elective surgery^7,8,9 and are associated with low morbidity and mortality rates as compared to surgery^7,9. Moreover, cost-effectiveness of stenting has been reported in the literature.^7,8,9,10,11
