Fast Facts

CONFIENT™ implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) are the first Boston Scientific ICD offering RF technology.  CONFIENT ICDs are designed to detect and terminate ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation (VF) and provide bradycardia therapy (atrial and ventricular pacing) , reducing unnecessary RV pacing while maintaining AV synchrony. CONFIENT™ features ZIP™ wandless telemetry to perform functions like EP testing, pacing impedance, and threshold tests during implant and follow-up.

CONFIENT™ ICDs are:

  • RF Telemetry enabled: the ZIP wandless for safety, wireless communication, allowing efficient and safe implant and follow-up.
  • Predictable with stable charge times throughout the life of the device, advanced engineering for low variability and improved longevity. A completely new Hybrid battery offering 6,8 years longevity in real life conditions * thanks to the completely new Hybrid battery.

  • Balanced with extended AV delay for more appropriate therapy delivery. CONFIENT™ with increased AV Search Hysteresis (400 ms)  for the perfect balance between INTRINSIC rhythm and paced beats.

  • Tailored to individual patients' needs offering High Energy (41J) for all patients with high Defibrillation Threshold (DFT).

CONFIENT ICD has also all the complete package of features for the best management of your patient:

  • Complete platform for Atrial Arrhythmia management.
  • Validated functions to reduce the risk of inappropriate therapy, as easy as you want, with the flexibility you need.
  • Quick-check for performing a complete follow-up in less than 3 minutes (standard follow-up).
  • Enhanced diagnostic features for following-up the patient conditions and monitoring all the devices parameters with 1 year trend.

The use of Radio Frequency (UHF) bandwidth by wireless devices may be subject to local restrictions and/or prohibitions.

*System Manual: PULSE GENERATOR LONGEVITY p.1-19: DDDR mode at 60 bpm, 15% A&V pacing, 2,6 V and 0.4 ms pacing pulse width 700 Ohm impedance; 4 maximum energy therapy charges per year, with automatic capacitor/battery management. 3-channel EGM onset ON. Assumes ZIP telemetry use for 3 hours at implant time, 20 minutes during each quarterly follow up. A maximum-energy shock is equal to approximately 11 days of monitoring.
