The gynecology/women’s health business of Boston Scientific Corporation is a leading developer of medical technologies used by urologists, urogynecologists and gynecologists to diagnose and treat a variety of urologic and gynecologic conditions. This business develops and manufactures devices for the diagnosis and treatment of such conditions as female urinary incontinence, pelvic floor reconstruction (rebuilding of the anatomy to its original state), and menorrhagia (excessive menstrual bleeding). This business’s devices are used by urologists, urogynecologists and gynecologists to treat
  • stress urinary incontinence,
  • pelvic floor reconstruction,
  • menorrhagia, and
  • other women’s health issues.
  • The HTA™ System is a hysteroscopic thermal ablation device intended to ablate the endometrial lining of the uterus in pre-menopausal women with menorrhagia (excessive uterine bleeding) due to benign causes for whom childbearing is complete.

Boston Scientific has developed several mid-urethral sling systems designed to treat Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI), including, Advantage™ Transvaginal Mid-Urethral Sling System, Lynx™ Suprapubic Mid-Urethral Sling System, and Obtryx™ Transobturator Mid-Urethral Sling System. All these systems use our Advantage™ Mesh - The Advantage Mesh is designed to reduce the risks of mesh deformation during tensioning and irritation to the anterior vaginal wall.

The Capio™ Open Access Device can perform a number of pelvic floor reconstruction procedures (anterior repair, posterior repair, vault prolapse) and can be used multiple times per case to throw sutures, using direct visualization, so that nothing is passed blindly.

Xenform™ Tissue Repair Matrix* was designed to reinforce soft tissues where weakness exists, promoting revascularization and regeneration as opposed to scarring and encapsulation.

Polyform™ Synthetic Mesh** is made from uncoated monofilament macroporous Polypropylene. This material is designed to be softer, smoother, thinner, and lighter with increased stretch compared to a leading synthetic mesh for pelvic organ prolapse.

*Xenform™ Tissue Repair Matrix is the property of TEI Biosciences Inc. and is distributed by Boston Scientific.
** Polyform™ Synthetic Mesh is the property of Proxy Biomedical Ltd. and disctributed by Boston Scientific.
