Brain Artery Stenting

Brain Artery Stenting is a minimally-invasive, endovascular procedure used to treat intracranial atherosclerotic disease or ICAD. ICAD occurs when an artery in the brain becomes narrowed or clogged with plaque. Stents are small, flexible, tube-like devices used to prop open and support vessels. In this procedure, the stent is intended to restore the flow of blood through the artery. Using a catheter inserted into an artery in the patient's groin, the stent is guided through the patient’s vascular system to reach the blocked vessel. Once the stent is deployed, the catheter is removed.
